Hi! My name is Jules.

I’m here to bring nice coffee to the Kootenays!

I was born and raised in Canmore, AB - but I got the travel bug as soon as I graduated highschool in the mid 2000’s. After exploring parts of Europe, South America and Canada I ended up landing in New Zealand in 2010. Very quickly I fell in love with the country, and then a kiwi boy. Fast forward 11 years and 2 kids later we decided to make the move to Canada for a taste of the Canadian life. We arrived to Kimberley July 2021, and shortly after I started planning how I could bring a slice of the New Zealand coffee culture to this little gem of a town.

And so my vision of Fantails was born.

I’ve always dreamt of owning my own little tea & coffee shop. I love a nice cuppa! New Zealand does too. Would I go as far as calling them snobby about their hot drinks? Yes. Yes I would. But dang do they do a nice smooth drop; and they taught me how to appreciate one too. I spent years as a barista in Queenstown learning and perfecting the art of espresso. I love the science behind it and really enjoy creating the perfect drink for you.

In nearly every town, at every event, beach or mountainside and in the most quaint of locations in NZ usually lies a cute little coffee trailer. They are a dime a dozen.

My vision was to bring that here, to Canada. An espresso bar on wheels, to wake you up and warm you up bright and early at your next mountain bike event. At the playground where the tired parents reside, or at the lake where you may need an iced latte to help cool you down! Fantails has your back.

In April 2022 we bought an old 1988 US postal service truck and my husband and I have been slowly converting it into Fantails Mobile Espresso Bar! Ready to roll Spring 2024! Get excited.
